Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution-data-server-common After more than two years of testing various versions of Evolution which came with various Ubuntu releases, I can see no progress whatsoever as far as the question of function in connection with an Exchange 2003 server is concerned, so I wondered if Evolution could be completely uninstalled from a 9.04 system which runs on an Eee PC with only 4 GB internal flash memory (i.e. on a machine where one can't waste memory for programs that one does not use). I was amazed to see that evolution-data-server-common cannot be uninstalled via Synaptic unless you wish to remove ubuntu-desktop, gnome-panel and various other important packages, too, which would basically mean that you would wreck your system. I wonder why the Ubuntu developers would want to stipulate that Ubuntu users have to use Evolution. ** Affects: evolution-data-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- Jaunty: Evolution cannot be uninstalled completely (unless you want to wreck your system) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424327 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution-data-server in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
