another premature ... from Ubuntu. Epiphany Gecko is far superior to the webkit one. Which is a joke it can't even open in new tabs. If you want a Webkit browser use Chromium, bring back Epiphay Gecko. -- epiphany-gecko can't be installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439818 You received

pt123, epiphany-gecko was discontinued/EOL'd a few months ago in the GNOME 2.26 series and Karmic is using GNOME 2.27/2.28, so there si no upstreams developers working on it, all the effort is now on -webkit See this post for a upstream developer:

I think the switch to Webkit is premature. Both browsers have severe customizability limitations, but at least Epiphany-gecko allowed to you tweak it with about:config. This bug is not invalid BTW, right now this is what you get when you try to install epiphany-gecko: # apt-get install

Damn, that's disappointing. I specifically left Firefox and switched to Epiphany but Epiphany/Webkit really seems like it's not ready for prime time IMO. There don't seem to be any working extensions, my form information never gets saved to the point where I'm having to reset the damned things on

CORRECTION: The base package of extensions for Epiphany are in fact ported, but I can't find a way to get the extra extensions pack (epiphany-extensions-more) installed. It turns out the problem with getting logged into Launchpad is more about the fact that the cookies don't seem to be getting
