Thanks for your bug. Opening a gnome-power-manager task so the
corresponding maintainers are subscribed. The session dialog used to use
gdm which uses pmi action suspend, now it uses gnome-power-manager.
Does suspend works from the gnome-power-manager tray icon?

Hm, it is actually working now. Closing the lid, choosing suspend in the
logout menu and in the gpm tray icon all work. (To answer the question,
I have that lock file).
I'm a bit confused as I did try several times yesterday, and rebooted to
make sure all updates were used. I wonder if my mirror
closing for now then, feel free to reopen if you get the issue again
