Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel
summary: In breezy, Tooltips used to appear after a short delay of a few hundred milliseconds. Now they seem to pop up instantly, which is really annoying. steps to reproduce: 1. mouse over something, like the workspace switcher applet. 2. scrub back and forth a bit. 3. let the mouse rest. expected results: The tooltip shouldn't appear until after the mouse comes to a stop for 300 milliseconds (at least). actual results: boom, instant tooltips covering up onscreen information. further information: I can't find a global gconf key for this setting anywhere, so I suspect it's hard-coded. Furthermore since many apps don't respect the global tooltip setting, there's not much I can do about it. This doesn't seem to happen with all applets, but launchers, the menu widget, the workspace switcher, and the clock all do this. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed -- tooltips appear instantly https://launchpad.net/bugs/45020 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
