I just discovered that if I restart Evolution and hit Ctrl-M to hide the incorrectly sized message preview and then hit Ctrl-M again to bring it back, it now displays the previously selected settings. So my work around for now is to toggle Ctrl_M on restarting the application. -- Evolution
