Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
This may very well be due to the bad hard drive, though it happens every single time so I don't have another method of trying this. I'm using the Ubuntu Live CD. I mount an NTFS partition that is 80GB into /stuff I use Nautilus to view the /stuff mountpoint and highlight all of the directories and files (excluding a few of the neccessary Windows files: boot.ini, ntldr ntdetect.com and pagefile.sys) and right click on any one of the folders or files, then click Create Archive. In a second or two each Nautilus window will disappear and a warning stating that it crashed comes up. I've done this several times all which result in the same manner. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed -- Crash upon Create Archive https://launchpad.net/bugs/46386 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
