i was affected with a kind a bug on power manger string then a warning windows
indicate display problem use another resolution ...then a diffrente windows

Does it dim even without gnome-power-manager running? Your log shows the
idle state changing, but it also shows that it isn't dimming the screen
on idle (it shows that the backlight is dimmed to 50% due to you being
on battery)

tee gpm.log". That might explain why you saw no output before ;)
