On Ubuntu 14.04 with alacarte 3.10.x, icons will not appear even in the
parent submenus anymore. They will all go to "All Applications"-menu.

I can confirm this bug. Also the submenu selected for the entry creation
seems to "vanish" until the new entry was deleted.
