Recently update my MSI U100 from UNR 9.04 by 9.10 to 10.04. Same
problem, totem stops after 1-2 seconds. UNR with all updates.

VLC plays fine using pulse, Totem fails for some videos only. I've found
out all videos failing have AC3 audio, most at 448kbs and some at
384kbs. Maybe related to AC3 decoding with gstreamer. The extra packages
are installed. My hardware is a HP Mini 210-1010ES running an up-to-date
Ubuntu 10.04.
Similiar problem here with an audio over RTP stream. Audio terminates after 1-2
seconds with following error (at the RTP receiving end):
Error: pa_stream_writable_size() failed: Connection terminated
/var/log/messages contains:
Apr 24 13:15:29 moon pulseaudio[1370]: ratelimit.c: 3 events
I have this problem after last update totem in UNR10.04. Video files
that previously played with no problems after the upgrade no longer
playable. After 1-2 seconds of play to cause this error.

I mean: everything worked fine on 32-bit until I reinstalled 64-bit.
Also I can't seem to boot any -pae kernels under 64-bit.
How do you completely disable all the -pae kernels in grub?
