I am adding detailed instruction about how to reproduce this problem.
0) Create a new folder on your desktop.
1) Put a jpg image in your desktop. Anyone. Wait until the small preview is
presented in the desktop (suppose the file is called image.jpg).
2) Run inskcape. Using open button from toolba

Addition info: After saving, the inkscape file started to refer to an
image inside it (my old jpg file), but with same file name. I am afraid
that this condition could generate any kind of recursion. Inkscape
opened the file and pointed out that the jpg file was missing. Trying to
open the file fro
