On the other hand, 'epiphany-browser' (with the new 'webkit' engine) CAN
be installed with no problems.

epiphany-gecko was discontinued/EOL'd a few months ago in the GNOME 2.26
series and Karmic is using GNOME 2.27/2.28, so there si no upstream
developers working on it, all the effort is now on -webkit

Ok, so remove the package from repos. I don't mind NOT USING the
package, if it is not in the repos. The reason I tried to install it is
because of using the engine of Firefox 2.0 and some web-pages can be

install epiphany-browser: http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/epiphany-
