When starting only with xterm instead of gnome, `xset q` has the lines Keyboard Control: auto repeat: onkey click percent: 0LED mask: After running `gnome-session` which starts gnome, it is changed to: Keyboard Control: auto repeat: offkey click percent: 0LED
