From the upstream bug
[https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307589#c25]:
evolution-exchange only supports the older Microsoft Exchange server versions
2000 and 2003. The last stable release of evolution-exchange was 3.4.4 which
took place a year ago.
evolution-exchange is now deprecated

Agree with mindframe. It a security risk. I was shocked today. I told I
was sending confidential emails.

Is there any sort of work around for this?
Is it fixed, thus it is just me who know nothing
This is what I get:
mar...@myhost:~$ gconftool-2 -a /system/http_proxy
use_http_proxy = true
use_authentication = false
host =
authentication_user =
ignore_hosts =

I'm having the same issue... Some people would consider this a security
risk. I need to send confidential internal emails while I am traveling.
To accomplish this I use a vpn with an ssh tunnel to create a socks
proxy to a system in my office. I recently switched from thunderbird
because of
same on 2.24.0. not using proxy from either GNOME or Evolution itself

Evolution will not use GNOME proxy settings of http_proxy environment variable

to my understanting, all protocols should use it.
Intrepid Ibex has the upstream fix, but it does not seem to be working
(and this is why I reopened the upstream bug).
Evo 2.23.90 is being packaged right now for Intrepid. I would suggest
you to WAIT for Evo 2.23.90 AND Evolution-Data-Server

Can you please go to Edit/Preferences/Network Preferences, and:
(1) is it currently set to Use system defaults?
(2) if it is, can you reconfigure it to Manual proxy configuration,
and re-enter your proxy data there?
I have just tried on my Evo (running 2.23.90 trunk), and -- after

@Cleber Santz: just FYI, this fix is *NOT* available on 2.22.3.1;
upstream has targeted 2.24 (and it is available for current Evolution
/Evolution-data-server trunk).
I have reopened it because it did not work for you (and for me, but this
is secondary). After reviewing the upstream bug, I
Ok, But it will be available on Ibex ? I`m using 2.23.6(Ibex) and not
2.23.3, even having and setting manual/system proxy on Evo this doesn`t
work. Evo 2.23.90 is already packaged for Ibex or you have compiled it ?

Cleber

Patches were applied upstream to SVN trunk, and should be already
available on E-D-S 2.23.4 on Intrepid. The patch was not backported to
2.22, to my knowledge.
I will check upstream. I am not setting (yet) Fix Commited because the
upstream bug is still open.
