The menu was not set visible which was, after a bug was fixed in
application-indicator, forwarded correctly to the menu in the applet.
The patch makes the menu visible now.

Yes, I noticed on update today that bug effects me too.
All was well with small improvements in power/battery indicator happening over
the past week, then bang, now just empty space and not able to view battery
charge value or select power management from this applet.
