It would be interesting to know if this also happens with an Upgrade from Dapper to Edgy with the same hardware. In that case we should look at fixing it in Edgy, but we are unlikely to fix it in Dapper. I'm closing it now, but feel free to reopen if you can show it still happens in a Dapper->Edgy

Both drives are p-ata nec5800 dvd-drive /dev/hda nec3520 burner /dev/hdb (slave) Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard (nforce4 based) if I click the CDROM2 in places I get an message saying: Unable to mount the selected volume. mount: special device /dev/hdb does not exist Nautilus 2.14.1 Ubuntu 6.0
