Shut Down instead of Switch Off is still ambiguous and unfamiliar. Instead of reverting back, take the opportunity to correct. What are you doing by selecting that option - asking the OS to close (just as you Close all applications when clicking the X) and the computer to power off. Thus, Power

I think Power Off or Power Down would be much better descriptions than Switch Off. Turn off would also work, but it's a bit colloquial. Turn Off... would also be kind of weird without the word computer or some other descriptive noun afterwards. I feel the word Power reminds the user that

I'm an en_US speaker who supports this change. Switch Off just feels very strange, and it's not immediately obvious what it does. Turn Off would be the best of the alternatives--when talking about any electronic device (phones, tvs, etc.), we say I'm going to turn off the tv. -- Switch off is
