Hi guys!
I'm affected to by this bug. My lucid installation was ok, until today
after making an update. This update screw GDM, because gnome-core,
gnome-applets, gnome-panel, gnome-session and indicator-applet are
blocked.
That was a bad move! Now i have only Xterm avaliable. hope this package
Andrea: In the xterm, type gnome-session. Then install gnome-desktop-
environment to see if it fixes the problem. Also, did you attempt to fix
a conflict with fuse before this happened? Thanks.

I did what you suggested and it didn't worked. There are 2 dependencies still
broken, gnome-core and gnome-accessibility.

I have 2 pc's at my home and i don't know why the other one got the new gdm
package 2.30. In the one with the issue, this update doesn't show up!

i just saw in launchpad that the new gdm 2.30 for amd64 has not been
realeased yet! my other pc is a x86. this s#$%. i have to be patience.

I hade a similar problem. After the upgrade to the beta1 i could not
login in gnome. I doscovered that it was no longer installed. I had to
reinstall gnome-desktop-essentials
