Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
I upgraded to 10.04 from 9.10 through the update manager. My theme does not load by itself, and I have to go to System->Preferences->Appearance every time I start up the computer. It turns out the problem is with gnome-settings-daemon which crashes on startup for some reason. First time filing a new bug so I'll just follow the guidelines: Release: 10.04 Beta 1 Package version: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 What I expected to happen: Load on gnome-settings-daemon on startup. What happened instead: gnome-settings-daemon crashes. .xsessions-errors reports: (gnome-settings-daemon:1146): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_format_get_name: assertion `format != NULL' failed ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: gnome-settings-daemon 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-19.28-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-19-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Apr 8 13:55:51 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-settings-daemon ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- gnome-settings-daemon crashes on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/558611 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
