I've made the above changes, but each time I close gnome_sudoku, my
solved games are still not listed as solved and it defaults back to the
same game each time...

I think I have solved this - it is caused when you click the Clear
button on the little number-picker. This adds the digit 0 to the row
object, so it's length when completed is greater than 9, and the game
counts this as an uncompleted game.

I also get the error in Gutsy (GNOME Sudoku 2.20.1). Upon completion,
it does not acknowledge completion like it once did before and when I
restart, it attempts to give me the same game that I completed before.
I also noticed that in some scenarios, it will mark number as red when
it shouldn't.
I am encountering the same bug in gutsy :-(
First games went ok, then the dialog stopped showing. High scores are grayed
out.
I tried to reinstall the game and delete all config files of it in my home
directory. Nothing worked. I even searched gconf for more entries without
