There is the new sound indicator applet in Ubuntu 10.10. When I click on
"Rhythmbox" it comes reliable to the foreground. But the multi-desktop
support is still missing.

Ubuntu better. A new version of Rhythmbox is available on Maverick and
we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that

bit. when i click the icon that i placed in the top left of screen, i
get another icon on the left side. when i click on that icon, i am then
given the option of "show rhythmbox".
