Public bug reported:
1. download edgy Knot 1 and burn to a cd R.
2. Then pop it into an IBM THinkpad 600E
3.it will start and you shoudl select "STart or Install"
4. wait for it to start loading
5.screen will become black with an underscore only like this: _
6.wait a while longer
7.then it starts to load hardware drivers
8.mouse aperas
9.white box apears in upper left hand corner
10ubuntu splahs starts, where it shows it loading windows manager
11. white box loads text loads
12.the error box says:
"there was an error starting the Gnome Setting Daemon
somethings such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work
correctly.
THer last error message was:
No reply withing specific time
Gnome will still try to restart restart the settings of Daemon next time
you log in."
13. I see the desktop but the only thign you see is the background and a
white top bar and a while lower bar.
