Following Dokuro's suggestion in #16 certainly helped. However, there
are still a LOT of screen weirdness issues. For example, it will draw
normally upon launch. However, moving the window to a new position will
cause the window to go mostly blank again. Starting a game will redraw
it, but while
Shared memory was already enable so this can not be the cause
In 11.04 the window is no longer empty but just gives a white flash when a
new block is loaded.
You can actually play !

fglrx needs POSIX shared memory to be enabled to work properly.
I have no longer had this bug. It seems to be solved for me.

fglrx needs POSIX shared memory to be enabled to work properly. Otherwise some
stuff might happen. On my Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) it did not come
enabled by default. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=122712 quick hint.
Do it, check it, and reboot your machine, just to be sure.

Perhaps it's; but I can't test it since no hardware acceleration is
supported by free drivers with my graphic processor, so I can't enable
Compiz in this case. The only I can said is no bug appear with free
drivers with Compiz disabled.

i have switched to opensource drivers and it is unplayable too slow and
gives these errors:

The newest Radeon cards, as mine, don't work with OpenGL and Compiz
without fglrx; but if yours does, obviously is better to use the free
drivers.

This is an issue with AMD-ATI's proprietary drivers. Switching to the
open source radeon drivers fixed it for me. Since the open drivers now
support OpenGL and Compiz, I don't see a reason for sticking with ATI's
shitty drivers.
