Hi, thanks for responding. Unfortunately I've recently formatted my
Ubuntu machine with no plans to reinstall at the moment. Will respond to

I can confirm this brightness -issue up to that point that the
brightness is lower when waking from suspend, not always but usually
when doing first suspend - wake sequence after the machine has been
booted to Ubuntu.
