Don, that fixes the issue, but only temporarily because the browse with
caret setting isn't saved when Yelp exits (this is probably a different
bug).

Turning Preferences caret browsing ON and OFF solves the problem.
This solution works permanently even after restarting Yelp.
It looks like caret browsing was activated by default but the state of the tick
box of the Preferences window is displayed incorrect.
So this bug should be: when
Hi,
Can you please try turning ON 'browse with caret'. If the cursor still
exists, try turning it off again. Does it still display the cursor?

Browse with caret is not activated and this happens all the time.
In attachment you find a screenshot of yelp after clicking System About
Ubuntu.

Thanks for your bug. I don't have that issue on my edgy desktop. Does it

yeah I have this as well ... blinking cursor like a text editor in yelp,
looks kind of silly.
