I don't know if it relevant but I experienced this with a notebook with
Intel 945GM integrated video card (the "another computer" has an ATI
video card).

I don't have Ubuntu in this notebook right now and I tried it on an
another computer (with Ubuntu) and it was fine. However, I'm on a Fedora
right now with my notebook and the bug occours here too.
I think the relevant part of the error file is this (before that there
was a totem-movie-player erro
could you attach your ~/.xsession-errors file after reproducing the bug?
