I experience the same troubles when trying to add a network printer (IPP). I go through the steps in adding a printer (gnome-cups-add I assume), but when finished no new printer is installed? In /var/log/cups/error_log is says: "E [03/Oct/2006:15:13:40 +0200] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized
