I also have this behavior on an up-to-date maverick. My panel is at the
bottom and the applet open -after 2 or 3s- in the right middle of the
screen !

I had noticed this bug since RC[fresh install maverick with clean /home]
and have been using the workaround Kantastisk mentions in comment #10 since
then.

I have this problem still, on up-to-date maverick. It does not appear to
be a problem if the applet is in the upper-right panel instead of the
lower-right. This is a regression from Lucid, and a regression from a
month or so ago in Maverick.
