Not only it crashes, after that the newly created account is inoperable. As a workaround you could create a Jabber account with your Google Talk credentials and enter "gmail.com" as a resource. Alternatively - just use Pidgin until this is fixed. -- empathy-accounts crashed with SIGSEGV in free
