Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
When I create a file in a nautilus window ~/Desktop/foo using the right-click menu, the file unfocuses after about half a second, disabling the user to enter the filename in time. If you manage to enter a few characters, the file will be renamed to those characters. If you don't, it'll just be "new file". Steps to reproduce: - create a directory on the desktop (in gnome) - open the dir with nautilus - create a new file using the right-click menu In other directories than direct subdirectories of my desktop I don't have the problem. Using Dapper fully updated (2006/10/11) on a 266 MHz cpu and 256 MB of ram. Perhaps faster cpu's don't even give the half second of timeout (not confirmed). ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Nautilus: new file unfocuses while renaming https://launchpad.net/bugs/65538 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
