I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 and the version shipped with it, Gaim
2.0.0beta3.1.
I usually never set the status manually, I let Gaim set away through the
mouse and keyboard events.
My settings are away after 5 minuters, set to default away message.
Awaymessage at both unavaliablility and inactivity.

thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu and gaim do you use? did you
set the away status manually? what away settings do you use to the
preferences dialog? is the away according to mouse or keyboard or
message sent or never?
