Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When you use "Connect to Server" to add a ftp site to your "Places" bar;
you can't rename the connection. For those of us who maintain multiple
sites with the same login credentials, this means that we either can't
see which site we are connecting to or we have to have the "Places"
sidebar take up the majority of the file browser window. Yes, I know
that I could add a bookmark and rename that, but this is an awkward
solution. It's pretty redundant to have to add a bookmark to your
sidebar to a FTP location that's already in your sidebar because the
FTP's identifying information is hidden by the size of the sidebar. Not
a very elegant solution... Even if you can see the whole information, if
you are using grid servers, you have to connect with the IP address, and
if you have several of these it gets confusing very quickly. We should
just be able to name FTP locations.
