I like gedit very well. But one improvement would make it much more usable for 
me: if it would be possible to let the Hotkey "F5" to invoke the Insert 
Date/time Plugin. This is it, what is possible in notepad.exe, the good old 
simple windows-text-editor. gedit ist more, i know. but it should be possible 
to write a simple personal logfile with a date-timestamp at the beginning of a 
line/paragraph w/o using mouse or menu-hotkey (ALT+E, I or ALT+B, D [if you are 
working with the  german interface). F5 would be / should be a 
language-independent hotkey.
