Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem-mozilla
The totem-mozilla plugin included from edgy on automatically runs on full screen videos as well as embedded videos. When you go to a website containing a video, you typically want to watch it embedded in the browser when it is embedded in the site, but want to download it if you are just clicking a file. For example, thatvideosite.com has embedded wmv's. These work fine, but then you can click "Download this video" and instead of downloading, it opens as a full screen plugin. There is also no obvious way to disable the plugin for certain file types in the default install. You currently have to go into about:config, change browser.download.hide_plugins_without_extensions to false, and then enter properties in firefox to disable it for certain filetypes. And then, if you disable a file type, it no longer works for embedded content! Some sort of better system should be implemented. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- totem-mozilla is active for full screen videos https://launchpad.net/bugs/72032 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
