Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
I just logged in after upgrading (apt-get upgrade, not apt-get dist- upgrade). The panel at the top of the screen wasn't themed properly, it looks default GNOME grey. Similarly, GNOME widgets have the default (ugly) GNOME styling. Rick Spencer was nearby and said it was because gnome-settings-daemon wasn't running. When I ran gnome-settings-daemon from the terminal, I got these warnings: $ gnome-settings-daemon ** (gnome-settings-daemon:16310): WARNING **: Failed to acquire org.gnome.SettingsDaemon ** (gnome-settings-daemon:16310): WARNING **: Could not acquire name ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: gnome-settings-daemon 2.32.1-0ubuntu11 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-5.32-generic 2.6.38-rc6 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-5-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Mar 30 13:32:34 2011 EcryptfsInUse: Yes ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_AU:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-settings-daemon UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-01-08 (81 days ago) ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745671 Title: Unthemed desktop when logging in -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
