Looks like that's Solaris ssh/sftp bug. Installation of 112908-29 and
113273-13 patches on Solaris host resolves the issue.

Nautilus does not display content of some folders on remote ssh/sftp resource
Thank you for your bug. If that happens with gnomevfs-ls too that's a
gnome-vfs2 bug, not a nautilus one, reassigning. Could you get a
backtrace for the hang from gnomevfs-ls as described on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace (with libgnomevfs2-0-dbg installed)?
** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu)
Here is the backtrace. Unfortunately I couldn't find symbols for
libgnomevfs2* v2.16.1-0ubuntu4 on people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs
Will symbols for v2.16.1-0ubuntu2 work? Or where to get the correct one?
** Attachment added: backtrace from gnomevfs-ls
Thank you for the update. No need of a dbgsym for libgnomevfs, your
backtrace is already a debug one, you probably have libgnomevfs2-0-dbg
installed
