I've uploaded the package, it had a Depends on gstreamer0.10-plugins-
ugly which needed to be changed to Suggests for Ubuntu (that's an
universe package)

We packaged serpentine before Debian, the packaging is different and the
Debian version is a new one. There is no reason to keep a different
packaging, the new version builds fine on feisty

when the sync will be done yep, we would have probably got it for edgy
if somebody pointed that there was a new upstream version available, no
problem though, that's going to be fixed
