ok, here are my bug reports with debug simbols, the problem found me
with low defences so I didn't make a proper backtrace. I hope this helps

The versions are the same, you can install gnome-panel-dbg to get a
debug backtrace. If you were trying to install the dbgsym they are not
built for edgy-proposed at the moment

what version of gnome-panel is installed? Could you run apt-cache
policy gnome-panel gnome-panel-dbg and copy that to a comment?
