I have not been able to attempt the steps that you've requested, Marc.
However, this bug is trivial to reproduce. I think that anybody with an
interest in fixing this bug should be able to troubleshoot it
themselves.

1. Set the screensaver timeout to 1 minute

Hi Marc. Thanks for following up. I'll provide the information you want
as soon as I can, but I need this computer for work, and I can only test
the screensaver by activating it or allowing it activate, then gather
the information by sshing from another computer.

I'm using the default Natty Unity+Gnome desktop.
The ps output is the same with and without the double screensaver.
$ ps aux|grep gnome-screensaver|grep -v grep

Also, what is the result of "which gnome-screensaver-command", and does
running "gnome-screensaver-commend --lock" lock your screen?
