I'm running Ubuntu 10.10. I usually upgrade once a year, so 11.10 will be mine. That bug is there since I use Ubuntu. I just used gimp as example - I use a lot of other apps that don't have a Open URL dialog. And it is 0 understandable for non-technical users. Could it be fixed? ** Attachment adde

Hi Stephan, Can you run 'apport-collect 803826' so we can see version information etc? As far as I can see, in 11.04 there is no place to paste a URI in the File dialog. Also, GIMP has an 'Open Location...' option which does exactly what you describe, but it would be nice if the functionality was
