I'm commenting because I saw Andreas post about this happening on a Dell
laptop. I'm using a Dell Latitude D631 with an aftermarket extended
battery. Maybe this will help isolate the problem.
I'm also getting more than one battery show up in the battery
notification, but I only have one.

On a dell 6420 i got 3 batteries shown in the indicator but selecting one of
the "phantom" batterys causes this crash.
As this laptop has only one battery this is understandable...
