not likely to justify to patch the edgy package for an update

Yes, I consider the bug fixed in Feisty. For Edgy the above given work-
arounds of either printing to a file or selecting the complete range are
working.

The printing worked for me on Feisty. I could only reproduce the print
problem from evince with files made available by gnomevfs via nautilus,
this is why I filed the bug against gnomevfs rather than evince.
