thank you Jo-Erlend for your advice but I already closed nautilus from
the command line with "nautilus-q". Effectively the problem disappears
but then reappears after a period of time

If you press alt+f2 and enter "killall nautilus", then the problem

(current update).
But I just noticed something. Currently I have this problem.
I have three nautilus' windows (also many other software(firefox,chromium,
netbeans etc) open and nautilus menus appear well.

Just because I feel that this bug appears exactly when the display becomes
slow. But indeed there can be no relationship, I just wanted to know.
For your other comments I will look if I am affected the same way when the bug
will occur again.

I too experience very -- very -- slow movement of windows. It is to the
point where the pointer "looses grip" of the window. I think this has
been reported in another bug, however. What makes you think they're
related issues? That would seem very strange to me, since they're
completely separate ent
I would like to add that menus are very slow to appear when I right
click on the toolbar breadcrumbs. All other menus work well, both in and
outside of Nautilus. Does Nautilus log things at all?

I still had the problem today with the latest version of nautilus present in
the Proposed repositories.
