Ubuntu 11.10 (not beta), amd64, updated today. The same story - no way to selectively disable empathy from autostart. You can even install pidgin and empathy still starts in the background! No entry for empathy or telepathy or whatever like this in /etc/xdg/autostart/ -- You received this bug
