what you mean under launchpad ?- as I understend it is a part of *gnome-panel*
this is comand line i wrote :
G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck

Could you try to get a valgrind log for it? (you can follow the
instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind for that)
