I had a similar problem. The fact that evince crashes is a bug. But it was triggered, in my case, by a leftover old installation of evince in /usr/local. After removing /usr/local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.gnome.Evince.gschema.xml and /usr/local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/gschemas.compiled, evince
