I'm seeing the same thing. For me, it's an old Jabber account that
doesn't work any more. I can delete it in empathy, but after I restart
empathy, it's back again. I also tried deleting the account using mc-
tool, but got the same result.

Yes the bug is reproducible for me?
As described above I don't know how this this specific account has been
created. But I can delete the account but after a reboot it reappears.
