The problem, though visible in gnome-terminal seems to be closer
connected to compiz

A temporary workaround for me seems to be to restart compiz after
logging in.

The problem seems to only occur when the window size is diffent than
- 80x24.
+ 80x24. And ONLY in Unity 3d. The problem doesn not occur in Unity 2d
This is what I do to produce the problem:
