I am also affected by this bug in 12.10. When I want to set Ctrl+shift+w
for accessing the web, it automatically takes me back one tab in unity
settings.

Here, I poked around. As a workaround, do this from a terminal:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys www
'ControlAltw'

Sorry, my response was about the open bug (which I had the same problem
with). So again, to provide support to the others who ask, How do we
bind our switch workspace up key? You may try this:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-to-workspace-up
['ControlAltw']
I didn't test
Incidentally, I've used the exact same command a few weeks ago, but
forgot to report back here. So it does work fine :)
I had this bug's problem and also the fact that my shortcuts are forgotten on
each reboot.
So I made a script that is run upon login and restores my custom shortcuts:
Uh, still no traction on this bug? This is horrible..

Can't assign keybinding Ctrl-Alt-w

I would also really appreciate a fix. I also use ctrl+alt+WASD to switch
workspaces as I found this the fastest way on earlier releases.

(Actually I didn't have this problem in 12.04)

Can't assign keybinding Ctrl-Alt-w
To manage notifications about this
Please revisit this bug. I use Ctrl-Alt-W/S/A/D to switch between
workspaces, and this bugs prevent me from setting up fast workspace
switching.
Even a dirty workaround is appreciated. Thanks.
