I found a good GUI workaround for controlling gstreamer and event sound
preferences. One can still run the old gnome-sound-properties with a
couple of files. The attached file has 32bit/x86 and 64bit/x86-64
versions of the gnome-sound-properties program. Move the appropriate
version of this file
this should be fixed in jaunty/karmic. please reopen if you see pop up
this again.

Yes, it is readily reproducible. Obviously you can only reproduce it
fully once per user, since you cannot return to the original state due
to the nature of the bug.

nm just uses gtk_icon_theme_load_icon and passes the current screen size
in there. If that behaviour is different to what gpm does
(gtk_status_icon_set_from_name) then it feels like an inconsistent
handling of size - icon theme in those too places.

Could you try to rename the drive or get a gvfs-mount -li? it could be
spaces in the name rather?

let's say we have thousand of bugs about people having their computer
not working how it should so I don't think we will spend time any time
soon on making this applet shipped in a different binary or something
just to solve this issue, we have better things to work on

See the last two lines of my bug report. The error code is `0', so it
works.
To make the story short:
[1] strace -e mkdir evince
mkdir(/home/danielt/.gnome2/evince, 0700) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
(evince:8463): EvinceDocument-WARNING **: Failed to create directory
there is still no package version there, could you run dpkg -l | grep
totem too?
