I have the same problem in Jaunty 9.04, Gedit 2.26.1-0ubuntu1. Gedit
uses my selection of English (Canada) for the current file. If I
autocheck spelling on files in other tabs within gedit, I have to re-set
the language. Very annoying when I've got 10 LaTeX chapters going
concurrently. A fix

I think your statement is flawed by the assumption that we cannot remove
those groups. They should at least not be created, and when upgrading,
update-manager could remove them, especially if they are empty. Leaving
them on the system is confusing anyway, even if it's to a lesser extent.

I thought ntp.ubuntu.com was checked by default. But as I've upgraded
from Jaunty, I can't be sure that it's the case in Karmic. Anyway,

I agree with Chris that a proper fix ought to be committed, rather than
just another workaround. If nobody cares about the show_desktop
option enough to fix it, maybe it should just be disabled (i.e. remove
the gconf key, and just always show the desktop). Personally, losing

One of the things that kept me from Ubuntu for years, was the lack of
good graphics / video capability.

I don't believe this is an Ubuntu One caused problem. The changes we
make are adding a connect/disconnect button when viewing the ~/Ubuntu
One folder. I'm not sure what would cause Nautilus to get that sort of
toolbar. I'm going to mark this as a bug affecting Nautilus and see if
upstream said they will not use txt because there is no way to know if
those are subtitle or not, rename your subtitle to use a correct naming

To configure HDMI Audio output properly it is required to use gnome-alsamixer
or äquivalent to enable the IEC958 digital audio options.
